NEWPORT – A home crafted in 1979 on the best elevated land in the city, a 5.25-acre house on the historic estate of millionaire railroad magnate Arthur Curtiss James, was marketed not too long ago for $6 million, in accordance to Lila Delman Compass, which represented equally sides of the deal.

The sale of the Beacon Hill Property at 60 Beacon Hill Road was the 3rd-most significant actual estate transaction in Newport so significantly this year, the actual estate firm claimed.

The 6,770-sq.-foot, custom made-intended residence is the second Beacon Hill Property, pursuing a fireplace started out by vandals in 1967 that wrecked its predecessor. The first Beacon Hill House was a gray puddingstone mansion created in 1910 that includes a two-tale great corridor that was host to gatherings held by James’ socialite wife, Harriet.

With sights of the ocean from each place, according to Lila Delman Compass, the dwelling has 6 bedrooms, five entire bogs and a person half-bathroom. The dwelling place has cathedral ceilings and a fireplace, whilst the open up kitchen “fully integrates the outside,” with sliding doorways to the wrap-all around deck, the actual estate company stated.

The landscaped grounds are marked by elements of the former James Estate, together with a stone temple gazebo, the authentic estate firm explained. And the home also has an 800-square-foot, in-ground pool, a sauna and a jacuzzi, according to city house information.

The property was final owned by BP Realty Have confidence in, in accordance to Newport town assessor documents. Community documents offered on line documenting the sale and the id of the purchaser ended up not straight away offered.

The property was last valued by Newport assessors in 2021 at $4.01 million, in accordance to community records.
